error: Authentication error: Authentication required: You must have push access to verify locks erro

I have been dealing with this error for hours on my Mac using SourceTree to push files to GitHub. I have tried:

1. re-installing my GitHub account in SourceTree with a Personal Access Token instead of password auth

2. deleting all of my keychain entries for Git & letting the system recreate them

3. confirming account password

NOTHING WORKS to fix this problem. I cannot push files to my repository.

try another git client, such as Fork

Id doesn't looks to be a client problem but rather a misconfiguration (or a missing grant) for your user to the project you're pushing to
