As an Atlassian Customer Success Manager, I’ve seen users accidentally create a new site when they really want to log into their existing site.
Users have a few different ways to log into Atlassian:
⚠️ Here is where this gets tricky... |
If you go directly to an Atlassian app page (Jira, Confluence, etc.) instead of one of the previous options, you can either log in OR create a new trial from there:

If you or your team have created a site by mistake, you can easily delete it via the following steps.
1️⃣ Optional: Copy data
If you have created any data on your new site that you want to copy over to your primary site, here’s how you can do that:
2️⃣ Delete all Apps on your site
You will first need to delete all apps (Jira, Confluence, Marketplace apps, etc.) on your site by following these instructions: Remove domains and apps from your organization.
⛭ Note that your apps won’t be deleted instantly. The above article states that when you cancel a subscription: We’ll give you an indication of when the cancelation will take effect. Repeat this process for all apps in the organization. |
3️⃣ Delete your site/Atlassian organization
Once all apps have been fully deleted from your site and nothing is shown under admin.atlassian.com → Billing, you can then delete your Atlassian organization.
Please share this with your teams: if they bookmark your site URL or get in the habit of going to start.atlassian.com, they can be assured they’ll get where they want to go! 🏎️
