Is the connection of Talent to Focus required before people are assigned to a team?

I understand Talen houses the individual resource and Align has the Team information. can we connect directly to Align, or we are required to connect Talent to Focus first?
is the resource workflow the following?

Hello Musunga - Talent does not integrate directly with Align. Jira Align integrates with Focus to surface data related to strategic goals and priorities. Essentially, Portfolio epics and capabilities in Jira Align map to “Work” in Focus, enabling a seamless flow of information between strategy and execution. Positions in Talent are then mapped to Focus areas in Focus. So yes Talent would need Focus to be set up to provide value in this regard. May I know what your use case is?

Thank you for the replay. We are in the process of building out and implementing these tools and want to understand the workflow/process flow. Our use case is to ensure people are assigned to work and teams are designated to perform the work.
