Hi everyone, I’m exploring reliable time and attendance tracking solutions to better manage employee hours, streamline payroll, and ensure accountability—especially for remote and hybrid teams.

I’ve recently been trying out Workstatus, which offers features like automated time tracking and productivity monitoring. So far, it’s been quite effective, but I’d love to hear from others as well.

JetTime is a privacy-first time and cost tracking app that runs fully on Atlassian infrastructure. It offers:

  • Track anything — time, costs, and even custom metrics
  • ⏱️ Timers and manual work logs for accurate tracking

  • 🗂️ Custom time categories like Billable Time, Overtime, or Internal Work

  • 📋 Flexible reporting across projects, clients, or teams

  • 🔒 No third-party data access — all data stays securely within your Jira site

It’s ideal if you want to streamline tracking while keeping everything secure and Jira-native.

Hi, @Olivia Reed

It’s great to see you exploring time and attendance tools—these are especially valuable for remote and hybrid teams where accuracy and transparency really matter.

If you’re using Jira, I’d highly recommend checking out the Time & Cost Tracker for Jira by SaaSJet. It offers secure and flexible time tracking, including:

✅ Quick, reliable logging of hours
✅ Detailed time reports filtered by user, project, or epic
✅ The ability to generate customizable time tracking reports and export them easily for further analysis.

Furthermore, users can also create cost reports based on the time logged and hourly rates using the app. These reports are also useful for monitoring project budgets, billable hours, and team efficiency, enabling informed financial decisions.

It could be a great fit for your team—happy to share more details or help you get started if you’re interested!

Hello  @Olivia Reed

Welcome to the community

Great to hear that you're exploring ways to track time and attendance more effectively, especially in remote or hybrid setups where visibility is key.

If you're open to exploring issue-based time tracking within Jira, I’d recommend checking out Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira, developed by our team at OBSS. While it’s not an employee monitoring tool like Workstatus, it provides powerful insights into team workload and bottlenecks based on Jira issue activity  particularly useful for teams working in agile/scrum environments.

With Assignee Duration and Status Duration reports, you can:

  • Track time spent per issue, per status, or per assignee.

  • Understand where work gets stuck (bottlenecks) or who is overloaded (workload balance).

  • Apply custom calendars to reflect your actual working hours and shift structures.

  • Measure Cycle Time, Lead Time, and more, with average and trend breakdowns for process improvement.

You can add these insights directly to your Jira dashboards using gadgets, or even integrate them with your BI tools using the app’s REST API, making real-time monitoring easier.

For a more detailed guide on using Timepiece for workload and performance tracking, I’d suggest taking a look at the article below:

How to use Timepiece reports to monitor workload and performance

Let me know if you'd like help setting up any of the reports or have any questions!

Hope this helps,

Ayça
