When a company makes a big announcement--could be about a strategic shift, a re-organization in company structure, a change in leadership, the introduction of a new program, etc--what do you think are common searches?
This could be a search on a company intranet. Or a search on Google. But for fun, let's make the answers to this post look like that search history.
If you don't have any suggestions, upvote the ones you think are particularly good.
*This is just for fun as a mid-week break.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Google search by managers, team leads, and project managers:
"How to help colleagues during change"
"How to make check-in with coworkers without being awkward"
"How to ask teammate if they are okay"
Search via company intranet
"company mission statement"
"[program name]"
"vacation policies"
Lol “[program name]”
It’s sad that this would happen but funny because it’s so common.
It is! Of course, the definition of the programs are probably behind access-controlled wikis spaces... not that I'd know.
Haha yes! Nothing like a re-org to bring out the big questions. Here are some from my perhaps-not-too-distant work history:
"What does [insert corporate acronym here] mean?
"[insert name of new company leader] intro blog"
Ugh, the acronyms! I feel like that would be searched regardless of big changes or not. Classic.
"org chart"
"recent promotion"
"promotion cycle"
"cycling"
"fitness reimbursement"
"LinkedIn companies with fitness reimbursements"
"deleting search results"
Hahahahah the order of your search queries is corporate standup material.
'hiring policy'
'work related benefits'
'equal opportunities policy'
'anti bribery policy'
'linkedin jobs'
'mental health first aiders'
I didn't know "mental health first aiders" was a thing! Interesting.
It is becoming reasonably common here in the UK.
+1 for Org Chart + abbreviations
Colleague xyz - to check if he / she is still there
room planning - to find your desk
job portals - outside the company ;-)
looool. I'm sensing a theme here.
"who's now running atlassian?"
"what is Christine P Dela Rosa's background?"
"employment opportunities at atlassian"
"why did atlassian re-org?"
"when will atlassian open an office in Hawaii?"
Lol, these are hilarious.
"recordings allhands meeting" (just to make sure everything was understood correctly)
"org chart" (trying to understand what is where and with whom now)
"team xyz page" (to see what they come up with in their [re]presentation)
The recordings! Duh, I totally forgot that when news makes the rounds people look up the original sources. Nice.
Google Search:
org chart [company name]
CEO [company name]
mission [company name]
reviews [company name]
