I am in between job at the moment and was told about how much of a high demand jira admins are right now. I would love to learn it but I am looking for the most cost effective way to get the training/study material I need.
I started with the basic tutorials to get a broad knowledge of Jira. But I was wondering if there is another way to get the same information but not spending the $400 per course.
Any info or help would be greatly appreciated!
I totally understand your predicament. Luckily there is a slew of free training available through Atlassian here:

I do highly recommend becoming certified if you do intend to become or apply for the position of Jira Aministrator.
You can checkout how to become certified here:

One huge tip I would give is to get yourself a test environment to play around with and focus on the labs/interactive portions. Try everything you learn out!
