After months of preparation, I’m excited to share that I passed the Atlassian ACP-42 and I’d like to share a bit of my experience.
I’ve been working for several years as an Organization Admin on Jira and Jira Service Management Data Center.
Last year, I earned the ACP-620 (Managing Jira Cloud Projects) certification — which was easier for me since it’s quite similar to the Data Center version.
So naturally, I wanted to continue my journey this year by preparing for ACP-420.
To prepare, I used:
Even with years of experience on Data Center, I soon realized that JSM Cloud feels quite different, introducing new features don’t exist on Data Center.
At first, the amount of change was a bit overwhelming
In my case, the most challenging parts were getting used to all the Cloud features, Widgets and Atlassian Intelligence (AI), which I don’t typically work with on Data Center.
My strongest areas came naturally from my day-to-day work — I just reviewed them to see if there were any Cloud differences:
Roles & permissions, Automation rules, JQL filters etc
I struggled a bit with some of the newer Cloud features, but my Data Center background helped me understand the overall structure quickly and stay confident throughout the exam. ✅ Score: 80 %
Good luck to everyone preparing, and a big thanks to the Atlassian Community for all the shared knowledge and support!
Congratulations @Duc Thang TRAN and thank you for sharing your experience!

Hello @Robert Hean
Hey! Thanks 😊 Sorry, I mixed you up with someone else
But I think I’ve watched some of your videos on the Hean Tech YouTube channel . They were really clear and easy to follow
