I was just getting used to the new layout for the Trello Beta (with the Activity comments to the side), and then one morning they disappeared. They haven't come back since.
Anyone else have this problem? I've been unable to find any settings to adjust this.
(I was quite liking the new card layout, otherwise.)

If you click the rightmost button in the bottom island (see image below), the comments panel will show on the right side
What if the island of icons is not present or appearing? If you'll notice in the screenshot the activity/comments section is open and active.

@Jason Bailey What you shared above is the old interface. Here is the new cardback that is gradually being released to all users https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/new-card-back/

Thanks @Gaurav Kataria for that information, I had seen these features present before and they disappeared. Will wait on the gradual release.

HI. I've just seen this thread, as I'm having the same issue. Currently I'm on the BETA, but have no ability to add comments. I've followed the instructions re the island of icons. But it doesn't provide a space to leave comments. Which is a feature that I've used actively previously. Is this something that has been taken away?

Yep. I have the same problem. Maybe it is because it is in Beta? My other beta board has them though... It is driving me NUTS

It seems like a page loading/caching issue. Could you please try restarting your browser or rebooting your computer.

I've noticed toggling on the "Hide Details/Show Details" sometimes does the opposite of what I'd expect. It seems like not all comments are considered equal. Toggling that button hides some comments instead of just the small actions of crossing off a checklist item.
