Loving the planner and how it is improving my productivity as I adapt how I manage my work with it.

Is / will it possible to allow users to change the colours of their different connected calendars? Alternatively, could the colour assignment be adjusted so that the same colour isn't repeated, including tasks / focus time added from Trello cards?

I currently have 3 calendars connected to my planner, but one of my calendars is the same colour as the purple used for items I create in my main calendar. I tried to change the colour of one of them, but it seems that I can't?  I use colours a lot to differentiate things, so it really helps me to quickly visualise what are genuine calendar items like meetings, vs tasks that I have put in my planner from my Trello cards where it isn't as important if I miss it.

Hi Jenny! Appreciate the feedback!

The colors of your particular events in Trello are based on their color in Google Calendar. The only exception is focus time events created from Trello which are always purple.

We are exploring allowing you to change the color of your calendars and events, but that would also update them in Google calendar. Another option we are exploring as well is allowing you to choose the color of your "focus times/scheduled cards" which defaults to purple right now.

How do either of these sound to you? Would they solve your issue or were ya thinking something slightly different?

Hi Alexandros,

Thanks for this answer! I think I finally understand how the planner and focus time is designed to work now.

To me, it seems like the idea behind planner is that an individual might already be using Google Calendar to plan out their day, so this lets them view their schedule within Trello. And if an important/urgent Trello card appears, it can be scheduled in the planner as a "focus time" event, around the other events originally created in Google Calendar.

Personally, I like planning everything in one place (Trello), so I don't use Google Calendar. Instead I have lists for each day of the week, with times as part of each card's name (e.g. 3pm - easy run). I find cards are much better for managing information than Google Calendar events, but the only drawback of making a calendar within Trello is being unable to time-block each event.

I would love to use the planner for time-blocking each card, so I can visualize how long each card will take—but if I drag any card over to the planner then it'll be purple, which mostly defeats the purpose. It seems like the only way around this would be if I manually added each card to Google Calendar, which doesn't feel worthwhile.

I would find it extremely helpful if I could change the colour of events, or even just "focus times/scheduled cards" to colours other than purple. It would be great to have the same options as the available colour labels, so that planner events can match the linked cards on the board.

Happy to see this feature in development!
