Trello Team,

After years of exploring nearly every productivity and project management app, I am seriously considering returning fully to Trello.
Trello was my starting point years ago, but I eventually left because I needed a stronger Calendar and Planner experience.

Since then, I have used:

(Trello, ClickUp, Todoist, TickTick & others)

After all my testing, Trello remains one of the most flexible and intuitive tools — but a few important improvements could make it my complete solution again.

Key Areas to Improve:

1. Native Calendar and Planner Features (Especially on Mobile)

  • Ability to reschedule tasks easily within the Calendar view.
  • Native Calendar support (not just Google Calendar sync).
  • Drag-and-drop tasks directly in the Calendar (similar to how TickTick does it).

2. Subtasks / Checklists Visibility

  • Checklists should appear in the Calendar as scheduled items. (and also have durations & be dealt with as if it is a task)
  • Or alternatively, an easy way to create Sub-cards/Subtasks that can be independently scheduled.

3. Task Duration and Hourly Planning

  • Allow setting start and end times for tasks (not just due dates).
  • Support for hourly scheduling, especially important for detailed daily planning.

4. Recurring Tasks and Reminders

  • Simplify repeated tasks and reminders, especially from the mobile app.
  • Allow users to set repeat rules easily (e.g., every Monday, every 2 weeks, custom patterns).

5. Unified, All-in-One Calendar View

  • A single calendar where tasks, events, and reminders are integrated — without needing third-party tools.

PLEASE:

Please try using the calendar features in TickTick’s mobile app.

It’s by far the best example of what a real, powerful, mobile-first Calendar and Planner experience should feel like.

Why This Matters:

  • Mobile-first users (like me) need a true Planner experience on the go.
  • Dragging and scheduling tasks from mobile Calendar is critical.
  • Minimizing third-party dependency (e.g., Google Calendar) will make Trello much stronger and more competitive.
  • With these improvements, Trello could replace multiple apps (Calendar, Task Manager, Habit Tracker) — offering a full productivity ecosystem.

Finally

I truly believe in Trello’s potential.
If these improvements are made — especially around Calendar and Mobile usability — I would return fully to Trello and even recommend it more actively to others.

Thank you for considering my feedback and for continuing to make Trello better.

— A loyal early user hoping to return!
