We're slowing building up the amount of people we invite into Beta. You being some of the first, wondering if you opted out of seeing the new experience why did you?
I was looking for a setting I couldn't find, would be interested to opt back in and continue participating.
> would be interested to opt back in and continue participating
We will be adding an option to switch back and forth between the new Beta and the existing experiences soon. Thank you for sharing this feedback!

@Victoria Cleary We have just released an update to allow you to opt back in. Look for the purple box which you used to opt out. There is an option there to "Try the Beta experience"

I have not opted out, but I did consider it because I switch between the default Board view and Timeline very often, especially in my personal bullet journal-like daily life management board, and having to select the view I want from the drop-down menu every single time accumulates the little pinpricks of annoyance XD
I think letting the user checkbox the views they actually use and having those views show up as tabs at the top of the board creates better user experience in comparison; perhaps even that could be further improved by moving the view checkbox menu to the settings, since I suspect most users (not in Beta) don't interact with that menu after settling on the views they like, so there's no need for it to be in such a prominent spot in the UI, but that might also be my personal annoyance, and I understand this needs to be balanced with "if the button is hidden, users might not realize it exists" 😅
I really, really hope the view tabs return though!

Also, for users who do not want to use other views besides the Kanban, I find that the menu for switching between views is a bit central. It might be a good idea to enable users to switch off the Inbox and Calendar view in the settings for those who prefer to continue using Trello simply for its Kanban board-type features. (I.e., if I switch off calendar view in my settings, it's not visible anymore on the menu)
for those, it may be a nice feature being able to see two different boards side-by-side and drag and drop cards between boards instead of seeing calendar and board side-by-side.

If I had to prioritize the below (assuming you do not want to re-invent Planyways), I'd most appreciate an easy way to manage the Inbox. For reference, my wife and I share an Apple note where we collaborate (note down what we need to do whenever it comes to our mind). I struggle with importing those notes into Trello so that I have all my to-dos in one tool. However, the Inbox has some limitations, as mentioned below. It's easier for me to create a regular "Inbox" column in my normal Kanban board because it's more feature-rich.
What I could imagine working quite well is adding a generative AI model where I could copy and paste any to-do lists and ask it to create tasks based on that list without replicating existing tasks.

Not at all, Sven. Planyways is aiming to boost productivity for teams through powerful projects visualization.
All the new Trello Beta features are aimed at empowering an individual to efficiently capture, organize and get their work and personal life to-dos accomplished.

Thank you for mentioning automation for Inbox in another thread, Sven.
Did you have a chance to try adding new to-dos to Inbox...
- via email (simply forward an email to inbox@app.trello.com)
- via Slack, if you are a Slack person (simply hit "Save for later" in Slack or add an inbox emoji to a message)
- via iPhone app (just say, "Hey Siri, add <something> to Trello app"
Inbox is not as mighty (just yet) as a regular list, but it may help you to add new ideas and to-dos to Trello very quickly and with minimal friction.

I did have a try, but I am not using Slack, nor is the Email functionality very interesting to me. My wife prefers just writing our To-Dos in a notes app, while I prefer using Trello. For those purposes, the easiest thing would be if, every once in a while, I could simply copy and paste all To-Dos from the Notes app to the Inbox; however, currently, when I do this, it may create duplicated entries, and it also would only create one card with a long name listing all To-Dos instead of creating many cards (like it does with lists). I believe a GenAI chat that would format any inputs into cards could be really helpful here.

I also did not realize that I could not get back in once I switched to the classic view. I thought comparing the classic and beta views would help provide better feedback, so I exited.
Few thoughts: I really like the powerup "Planyways," which creates a Calendar and time tracking view on top of Trello. Specifically, the feature to create Checklist cards without opening a card (see screenshot) and schedule those cards in the calendar is super helpful.
I also like having some simple time-tracking features and seeing the time spent on each label.
Regarding the "Inbox" feature, I did not like that I could not apply Automations to it. For example, I'd love to write an automation that does not duplicate a card name that already exists in the Inbox. Also, when I copy and paste many lines into a “normal” Trello list, I get asked if this should be many cards. In the Inbox, it just gets created as one card.
One more feature I like in Planyways is the ability to set Milestones and visualize those in the calendar view.

@Sven Göpfrich We have just released an update to allow you to opt back in. Look for the purple box which you used to opt out. There is an option there to "Try the Beta experience". This will allow you to freely opt in and out of the experience.
Thank you for all the feedback!

I opted in when I saw it to try it out, but given I was in the middle of finishing/publishing a new PowerUp, I exited the beta again to test on the normal experience...
I would like to get back into the beta, but i does not seem you can get back in once you exit it?
