Removed the Sidebar - is this permanent?

I tried the beta for about 5 minutes until I discovered the list to jump between boards has been removed.  That side bar is one of my most used features as we have multiple boards to jump around to. Having to go to the bottom of the list, bring up a pop up and select, which is multiple steps is super annoying.

Anyone know if this is a permanent change? I see others posting about it. I can't imagine anyone would be in favor of this change that turns a single click operation into a multiple click one.

Please, add that back to the UX before final launch.

If it is, I'm moving out of Trello. I am utterly shocked.

I Think this will be my plan too. It's like taking an iphone, and instead of using the app icons, adding a side menu you have to hit which then brings up the icons.

Totally agree. I’ve raised the same point before, this change breaks the workflow for teams juggling multiple boards. Removing a one-click UX for a clunky multi-step one just doesn’t make sense. Bring the sidebar back :)

I think the fact we are seeinmg peopele creating new accounts just to tell them this is somewhat telling.

This will be the end of Trello. I hated the last "checkmark" update where they completely ruined that system, now it seems that wasn't enough, and they've decided to destroy the entire product too.

I have found the keyboard shortcut extremely useful for quick navigation to other boards. Just typing 'b' when I'm on a board and then starting to type the name of the board (if it is not already visible on the modal pop up) gets me to the board I want quite quickly. Without me having to navigate to any other part of the page such as the bottom or the Left hand bar.

This is substantially less convenient.

One tip I found was to create a list with links to each of my boards on it on each board. It's the first board and it's been super helpful and quick click to get to that board. You just type the link to the other board as the card name and it will display like mine as an example.Trello links.png

There is already a perfectly functional menu in Trello now that does exactly that .. the left hand Board menu .... If I have to come up with solutions to replicate a function I currently have it's not a progressive update.
