Automatically generate due dates prior to an event date

Is it possible in Trello to automatically generate due dates working backwards from an event date?

So the event is 10th September and Task 1 needs to be done 30 days prior to that, Task 2, 26 days before and so on. I currently have each task on a card in a list.

I can't find anything in the automations that allows a negative date.

I'm thinking that custom fields might work but when I try to automate it, it only allows a set figure to change, so it sets the due date for everything at -30 days.

If the event date is stored as a custom field, you might try rule like this sample: "When the custom field 'event date' is set to a date less than 30 days from now, set the due date to today." While this doesn't precisely match your requirement of setting due dates based on specific intervals before the event, it could be a starting point.
