I have followed all instructions and still continue to get an unable to import calendar
Hi @Johanna North,
Sorry to hear you're having trouble importing the calendar into Outlook. While you've already followed the instructions, this issue can sometimes stem from a few common points:
File Format: Ensure the calendar file you're trying to import is in .ics format. Outlook requires this format for calendar imports.
File Corruption: If the file was downloaded from an online tool (like Trello, Confluence, or another source), it may have been partially corrupted during download. Try downloading a fresh copy and make sure it has content by opening it in a text editor.
Outlook Version Compatibility: If you're using Outlook desktop, use File > Open & Export > Import/Export > Import an iCalendar (.ics) or vCalendar file. If you're using Outlook on the web, use Add calendar > Subscribe from web or Upload from file under Calendar settings.
Time Zone or Encoding Conflicts: Sometimes, calendars exported with incorrect time zone settings or special characters can fail during import. You might want to open the .ics file in a text editor and check for any unusual formatting.
If none of the above works, try importing the same file into a different calendar client (like Google Calendar) to verify that the file itself is valid. If it imports successfully elsewhere, the issue is likely with Outlook settings or version.
If you're still stuck, feel free to share where the calendar is being exported from and what version of Outlook you're using. I'd be happy to help troubleshoot further.
