Feature Idea--Out of Office Member Status

We have a team of more than 30 using Trello and it would be great if we could know when someone is out of office (and won't be responding to being tagged). Maybe a gray/black and white avatar so they can let others know they're away?

Hi Ana,

I'm glad your team is getting good use out of Trello thus far, and I can definitely see how that would be useful! I'll pass a vote for that along to the team on your behalf, though I have a suspicion it's not something that we would branch into, it's always useful to hear how people are using the product, and what might make it better for them.

One thought, not perfect, but a possible option would be to update your public name in your Atlassian account profile . For example, you could change it to Ana Ramirez (OOO) when you leave, and people would be able to see that across all Atlassian products you use.

This is not a workable solution for one primary reason: Personal Security.

• The Trello Profile name is Public to the entire Internet. This means if someone knows my name, they can navigate to my profile and know when I am out of the office. This often means I am away from home since we mostly work remotely now.
  • This is a huge personal privacy and security breach and suggesting this workaround ignores this.

• Trello used to have an internal Online/Offline status feature in 2020, but it was removed: https://community.atlassian.com/forums/Trello-questions/Re-When-can-I-find-an-online-offline-user-status-ind/qaq-p/1395361/comment-id/27405#M27405
• Other platforms, name any really (Asana, Slack, Github) have internal only statuses to let authorized and internal-only teams know if you are out of office or offline.
• This is a critical feature that most other SaaS products have had since 2017, and Trello/Atlassian needs to catch up if not for UX, then for personal privacy and security.
