File attachments

My team and I are close to choosing Trello.

• We're using the Trello desktop
• We attach many files to our workspace
• We then attempt to open the attached files
  • The files don't open in their native software
  • We are offered a download of the file

We may be missing something here,

Can someone let me know why we can't open an attached (embedded) file in a native software other than downloading??

2. Click on the little arrow at the end  i.e. ....pdf  ➚

Trello will open a very small number of attachments in the native software, images, videos, pdf's etc...I don't think it is possible for it to exhaustively support all file types.  

What file types in particular are of issue?

What is strange is that even an MP4 doesn’t open within the native desktop app. This is such a common video file type that I’m surprised it only has the option to download. Whereas an MOV file plays within the app.
