I use the card filtering tool all the time. I think this tool could be greatly improved.
1. The f shortcut key does not work if the caps lock is on. Other shortcuts do work with caps lock (X to clear the filter, for example). It is very tedious because I usually write the card names in capital letters and I have to disable the lock for the filtering tool to work.
2. Every time I want to do a new search (once I press f) I have to delete the previous search. I think it would be much more efficient if the text of the previous search was selected and I only had to type the new search.
3. The option to Collapse lists without matching cards should be a permanent option. Having to activate it for each search when you have many lists is tedious and unproductive.
Maybe I am not using the tool correctly, so I welcome suggestions. Thank you very much.
Hello, Ace
Welcome to the community.
I noticed you raised a ticket with the support team, I'll share the answer here for other users
What wonderful and useful ideas you've come up with! I'm sorry they're not implemented already, so you had to raise a ticket for those issues, but I definitely see how these improvements can benefit you and many other Trello users!
I've tested several Trello shortcuts, and it appears that not only the filter shortcut is affected by this. So I created a feature request to improve this. You can access the feature request report here: TRELLO-995.
You're right about points 2 and 3. Such small things would make using the filter feature much more enjoyable. Hence, I created two more feature requests for our product team at https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/TRELLO-996 and https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/TRELLO-997.
I recommend you visit these suggestions, log in with your Atlassian account, and click Start watching this issue on the right panel in each report. This will help our product and engineering team understand more about which functionalities our users are interested in. Also, when a specific ticket is updated by our product team, you'll be notified via email.
I'm sorry I don't have any suggestions or workarounds right away, but hope those feature requests will be looked at and acted upon soon enough!
If there's anything else I can do to help or if you have any additional feedback you'd like me to pass on to your product team, just let me know!
Thanks a lot @Alisson Sartor.
Yes, I decided to submit a ticket (for the first time, hehe) because I found some things that can improve the user experience and don't seem difficult to implement. I look forward to hearing about this as soon as possible.
Thanks also to @Alina Kurishko for her quick response.
Hugs.
