Hi, I have recently returned to trello after a bit of time away. I am trying to add google drive power up to my boards however when you click the link it states 403 error unable to connect to account.
I am able to access drive from an old board which the google drive was set up ages ago. I've tried deleting browser history etc. Any ideas what I can do?
Hi Jen,
Thanks for reaching out, and welcome back to Trello!
The 403 error when connecting the Google Drive Power-Up usually happens if the Google account permissions weren’t fully authorized, or if the account being used now is different from the one originally connected. Since you can still access Drive on older boards, it suggests the Power-Up has valid permissions on that account, but not for new connections.
Here are a few steps you can try:
Check the logged-in Google account
Make sure you’re signed into the same Google account in your browser that you want to connect to Trello.
If you have multiple Google accounts, try logging out of all accounts, then log back in with the one you want to use.
Reauthorize the Google Drive Power-Up
Go to your board → Power-Ups → search for Google Drive → click Settings → Remove it.
Then re-add the Power-Up and reauthorize access when prompted.
Clear Power-Up permissions in Google
Visit Google Account Permissions.
Remove Trello/Atlassian from the list of authorized apps.
Re-add the Google Drive Power-Up in Trello — this forces a fresh connection.
Try in Incognito or another browser
Sometimes cached sessions or extensions interfere. Open Trello in an incognito window, sign in, and try adding the Power-Up again.
Check Workspace restrictions (if applicable)
If you’re using a company Google Workspace account, the admin may restrict third-party app connections. In that case, you may need to request access from your Workspace admin.
If none of these resolve the error, please let us know which step you got stuck at, and we can investigate further from our side.
Tip: Since you mentioned it still works on old boards, comparing the Power-Up settings between your old board and the new one may help identify what’s missing.
