Grant Tracking Template -Doesn't Allow Activity Entries?

I'm using the above template and the cards do not seem to allow you to enter your own activity?  What is populating the activity area is tracking my movements with regards to a card.  Is anyone else experiencing this?  I would like to be able to keep my own notes there.  Is there someplace to modify how this part of a card acts?

Of course, after days of trying to figure this out and then writing this post - I found my own answer.  Activity was turned off on the board and needs to be reinstated in order to post comments.  Can be found under Board>Show Menu>Settings>Commenting Permissions
