How do I make a board link that is in a list on another board stay at the top?

So, I have a board link in a list on a different board. However, since I have a lot of sorting automations on my boards, it gets pushed to the bottom when the automation runs since it doesn't have a due date or label or anything else a regular card would have. I would really like this link to stay at the top of my list no matter the other sort criteria. I cannot figure out an automation that would work to do this since I can't add a label or anything to this pseudo-card. 

Anyone have any suggestions?

I have an ugly solution which involves an automation that adds a colourless label to every other card.

when a card not starting with "https://trello.com/b/" is added to {listname}, add the "not-top" label to the card

Then with your sort automations, make sure you start the sort with...

...sort the cards by label "not-top" descending and then by...
