Recently Trello added a radio button that, when selected, archives the card. You can disable this on the front of cards at the board level by going to settings and unchecking the "show complete status on front of card". How do you disable this on the card itself? We keep having people accidentally archive cards.
Marking a card as completed (i.e. clicking that radio button) does not automatically archive a card. Archive is a separate step. See details here. It may be that you have an automation set up that automatically archives all completed cards. You could disable that automation.
We keep having people accidentally 'archive' cards
Had someone point out to me "people are not gonna be confused" with all the changes (this one, or those in the Beta) but assume poster here implies people do accidentally click stuff (and mess things up!) their statement here strongly supports that.
This forced 'Complete' button (and it's weak 'Show or hide on card front' setting) really ought to be a full on/off toggle, even on the back.
Have you never had cards that aren't a to-do, or some task to complete?
Can't the Trello developers imagine boards that just have resources on them?
(Or a mix: where some items in the list are static but one can have a 'Completed' tick? At least that is quickly solved with a Due date or a custom tick box...)
Like I said elsewhere, a lot of this foundational stuff really needs more (admin-level) granularity and control.
I just don't get how or why this was ever considered as a hard-coded feature instead of an option. Hope at some point this gets picked up as an issue and improved on.
