How to Remove the Mark Complete Feature Inside Trello Cards

I found the setting to turn off the Mark Complete circles that are visible when you're looking at the entire board.  How do I turn off the Mark Complete circles that are visible next to the title when you open a card?

This feature does not meet my use case for Trello and is distracting.

Agreeing with @Kelly Cheney @Laurie Sciutti - please let me know when I can toggle this off within individual cards. 'Marking Complete' will cause serious issues with the way I use Trello! I do not want this function at all.
