How to use automation to lookup a card or create it if it doesn't exist

Hi,

I'm llooking for a way to combine 2 actions from checklists using automation.

I can

• Create a new linked card for a checklist item, OR
• Find and link an existing card to a checklist item.

But what I want to do is look for a card,link  it if it does exist, and create it if it doesn't.

Any ideas?

This is a really good question. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to create a rule in automation that satisfies both scenarios. 

While this exact functionality isn’t currently available in Trello, you aren’t alone in wanting this as we have had other users interested in automations having if else conditionals. With that in mind, I’ve added you as a “+1” to our existing suggestion, which you can access here: TRELLO-267

I have also added this ticket as an internal comment to this report so that way our engineering team can reference it and also use it to help align priority. I would also recommend you visit that suggestion, log in with your Atlassian account, and click Start watching this issue on the right panel. This will help our product and engineering team understand more about which functionalities our users are interested in.
