Is there a way to automatically assign me as a watcher on a card when I set the due date for it?

Paul Colaianni July 8, 2020

I'm trying to set up email notifications for a card when I set a due date. I'm not getting the emails so I read that I'm supposed to watch the card too ?

I am a solo user of Trello... is there a way I can automatically watch cards that I set a due date to? It says I will be notified 5 minutes before the date and time its due, but I never get notified.

Hopefully it's just because I'm not "watching" it. Do I have to set the due date on each card and watch each card too?

Thanks, sorry for the redundancy of my question.

So I think it is because you have to be a member of a card. I’ve noticed when I set a due date on mobile the app prompts me to add myself.

Are the only one using the board? If no, you could set a butler rule that adds you to any card created on that board so then if a due date was set, you would get those notifications.

Thanks Brittany. Yes, I'm the only one using it. If there are no other users, it's weird that I would have to tell Trello to add me to a card.

I just searched and found something on Butler Rules so I'll look into that. Thank you so much.

Yeah I think it’s because trello generally assumes there’s multiple people on a board. I think “single” member boards has started becoming more popular though so I wouldn’t. E surprised if we start to see more features accommodating that soon!
