Our projects are set up in a way that each card has multiple checklist tasks. As I assign them, I add a due date to the checklist item but dashcards doesn't pick up that deadline, only deadlines that are assigned to the entire card.
I don't want to convert the checklists to cards because it will be an organizational nightmare.
Yes, it can be an organisational nightmare when you have too many cards on a single board. However, with a well designed boards where the cards' parent and child cards dependencies are put in place, it helps a lot to minimise the chaos. When you have due due dates assigned to cards and you can now collect them via dashboards, you get a sorted checklist in the back of the dashcards.
Dashcard, as a power up, do not go down to the individual card checklist due dates.
