Is there a way to make cards or checklist items sequential or conditional?

e.g. when a card or a checklist item has been checked complete, a different card or checklist item becomes available or highlighted in some way? 

Projects often run across different cards and even different boards and it's a pain to have to keep manually remembering and searching to see if something has been done.

Individual actions on multiple different cards are often waiting on a single checklist item being completed. The best I can do at the moment is make a note or a another checklist item "When this is done go here and here and do this and this" and then hope everyone checks in.
