I am trying to evaluate whether or not Trello suites my needs for managing a small team, let's say 4 members.
I would like my team members to be able to collaborate on a project, comment and eventually update their progress.
But I see that a team member is allowed to change titles of cards, descriptions and even changing deadlines, and deleting a card? Basically I have the impression that a team member is allowed to mess up or destroy the complete plan even if he is not an admin user. Am I missing something? I also have the impression that the external observer user just doesn't suite the purpose.
Any comment?
This situation also doesn't work for me. Is there an admin level where list names and cards can be pinned to the top of a list and locked to prevent them being deleted or edited by team members?
No, there’s no permission settings to lock down specific cards on a board. Either the user is a member of the board (can contribute at all levels), or they’re an observer.

Essentially, you're correct. Any member of a board can add, edit, or delete items from the board. Observers are the only user that implements restrictions, which in turn they can only view the board or comment/vote (if those options are enabled).
