Hi there

Our business needs a project management tool.  We are a bulky goods manufacturer / fabricator.  But we also need something that stores customer data and ties that data to a previous job/jobs.

Before jumping in and starting with Trello, is there CRM capabilities available via power ups?

It would be nice if there was a "helpdesk" to discuss these questions with, but alas I'm too old school, times have changed.

@Shaun Mercer

Trello is a very flexible tool that allows businesses to manage work with an enterprise. Case in point, I have users from manufacturing coordinate work from their ERP across 4 departments in Trello, realtor managing the sales processing using an SOP, or a RV rental using Trello just to store away reservation data to be trigger closer to the departure date to create job orders in ShopMonkey, … and much more.

On your question on CRM, the realtor is using Trello with a power up to automate updates to their clients at various stages of their selling process.

You can definitely use Trello to manage work coming through to your helpdesk. A simple form intake process can be used to set up service request card and have the contact insert into the power up used by the realtor.

Hi Shaun,

Trello could be a perfect fit for your business.  As an independent consultant who focuses on small and medium-sized businesses who are mostly outside of the high-tech software space, Trello has been my go-to for business such as yours.  All other tools are more complex than you would probably need and that complexity comes at a cost either in time or money.

Trello is a simple and lightweight tool for simple business management, project management and team work.  I do have the responsibility to tell you that Atlassian are moving Trello away from being a Team and Project tool and pitching it as a Personal Producitivity tool. So, while the features that make it perfect for use cases like yours today are not guaranteed to be there in the future.

There is a CRM power-up for Trello called CRMble

I think you're looking for a simple job tracker tied back to customer though, this can easily be built out in Trello.  My advice is to contact someone from the list in this article and some even offer a free call to discuss...(wink wink)
