Hello!
We utilize Trello for our customer portal, and a big pain point is holiday closure announcements. We used to go to every single board and comment that we'll be closed, but with the amount of customers we have now that becomes a bit time consuming and opens up a lot of extra communication back and forth. The best solution we've come up with is to maintain an email list of the project managers(that is constantly changing and we don't need aside from this reason), so that we can simply notify them we'll be closed 8-10 days a year.
A major issue with this is we're a subscription model, so by sending out an email we become top of mind to every single customer and basically open ourselves up to a world of pain right before every holiday.
All this to say, the ultimate solution would be an announcement banner at the top of the screen that populates to every Board in a Workspace. This way we could set the banner announcement a week before the holiday and anyone who goes into Trello will see it.
Is this even possible with Power-ups only being available for Boards and not entire Workspaces?
Open to any other ideas utilizing existing Power-ups or Butler as well.
Appreciate your time in reading this!
Hi @Eric Sirianni - just an FYI you raised two posts about this (I think in error!) so I deleted the duplicate one.
I'm not sure if this can be done by a Power-Up - this is something available on request for our Enterprise subscriptions but maybe one of our Power-Up developers would be interested in taking this on for you? It might be better to reach out to a developer directly, e.g. Tiny Power-Ups Club is a good one, they do customised solutions: https://powerups.club/
Alternatively, you could use the Read Me power-up, enable it on each board you need the announcement on, and set it to pop-up on board load: https://trello.com/power-ups/5a2de0c41ae4a1537bb0055d
My apologies for the duplicate post! It was indeed an error and I appreciate you deleting the duplicate - that could've gotten confusing :)
This is such good info! I think I'm going to give the Read Me option a try for this holiday season, but the other options will likely be the play long term.
Really appreciate your help here, Alex!
