Here's the set up:
I have a SCHEDULING board with cards for individual jobs/orders. I also have a separate board for PRODUCTION. On the SCHEDULING board, when a card button is clicked, the card is moved to a list called "Currently In Production", then the card is copied/linked and that copied card is sent to the PRODUCTION board. Once the person in production has completed the job, they send the copied card to a "Completed" list, which triggers the original card in the SCHEDULING board to move to it's OWN "Completed" list on the SCHEDULING board.
After the original card has been moved to it's list on the SCHEDULING board, the copied card is unlinked from the original card. From here, I'd like to set a calendar event to clear the "Completed" list in the PRODUCTION board (i.e. the copied cards) by DELETING anything that's been in there for two weeks.
Similarly, I will be setting a timer to ARCHIVE the cards in the "Completed" list on the SCHEDULING board in the same way.
The reason I want to DELETE the copies is because we often look up old order numbers with the search function. We can still click on/view archived cards in this way. However, when searching, I don't want two copies of the card for the same job coming up. So, I want the copied cards to automatically DELETE, and have the original cards automatically ARCHIVE.
Can anyone help with this?
So.. a somewhat stupid solution (but if it works, it works hey)..
But the Timer rule that archives the card in 2 weeks time. Make sure that rule also renames the card to something stupid like [[DELETED]]
Presumably that should stop it from coming up in search.
Deleting card has to be done through the Trello api or manually on the keyboard.
You might want to take a look at this app that I created :

Amongst the many services I have curated and implemented there is one that you can include in your Trello automation to delete the card.
This app sits in your personal cloud and you just need to configure it.
