Hello :)

I have a question about security on Trello (free account): Is there a backup-function or do you have an idea how I could backup all my dates from the boards?

Thanks for your ideas & help.

Sarah

Hi Sarah:
I'm the CEO at Rewind, a cloud to cloud backup company, and we're looking at building a solution for Trello customers to backup their data. You can learn more about our Trello backup solution and sign up to be notified when it launches at https://rewind.io/backup/trello/

Thanks,

Mike

Just a heads up to those who find this thread – the Backups for Trello Power-Up is now available in the Power-Up Marketplace.

Trello users can use it to run daily, automated backups of your Trello boards, lists, cards, and more. You can also run a backup any time if your team is making a lot of changes to a board or testing a new Power-Up.

If you have any questions, you can contact me directly at dasha@rewind.com.

Hi Sarah,

if you are looking for another option, you can check out Bridge24.

https://bridge24.com/trello-export-cards-to-excel-and-csv/

It gives you the option to export all of your boards in CSV or directly in Excel!

Hope this helps!

Emilie

Hi Sarah,

In Trello,
for personal backups, we’re definitely pro-data-portability and want to make sure our users can access and export their data. However, to clarify, it's not currently possible to re-import an exported board back into Trello.

Trello does currently have an export feature, available under the Board Menu > Share, Print, & Export. The format is JSON, which lends itself well to technical usages, but doesn't load into common programs like Excel. Thus, the export is primarily for people looking to crunch the data with programs of their own or just to back up their data in case of emergency.

If you need spreadsheet support, check out either of these third party Chrome extensions:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/export-for-trello/nhdelomnagopgaealggpgojkhcafhnin?hl=en-US
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/trelloexport/kmmnaeamjfdnbhljpedgfchjbkbomahp

Alternatively, if you upgrade to Trello Business Class (https://trello.com/business-class), you can export your board data as a CSV directly from Trello. That can be opened in any desktop spreadsheet program. To see what a board export in CSV format looks like, we have exported the Welcome Board that comes with each new Trello account.  You can download the .csv file here.

Hope this helps! Let me know if this message inspires any new questions!
