Heyo.

I had a quick question.
Is it possible to select only a part of the {commenttext} when using butler.
For example: I have a Rule made that if I make a comment starting with: "[I]" It automatically makes a inactivity notice of said person. Now I want to make it that if I do [I] 08/12/2021 that it automatically sets the due date to that date. Is this possible since I am not able to find it anywhere. For example allot of softwares use: {commenttext}[1] to only select the first part.

Hope you all can help me out :)

Hi Dirk,

Thanks for reaching out!

You could achieve by including a wildcard in your command, in combination with setting up Custom Fields (as there currently is no way to set a card's due date in relation to comment content).

For example:

when a comment containing "[l] {*}" is posted to a card, set custom field "Date" to "{wildcard1}", and set due date on the date in custom field "Date"

With this command, when you enter a comment like "[l] 08/12/2021", the Custom Field would be set to Dec 8 11:59pm.

Let us know if we can be of any more help, and have a great rest of your day.

All the best,
