Can a person be assigned a task and not be a member of the card?

Trying not to overload people with notifications that do not apply to them.  If they are assigned a task on the card and not a member of the card, will they just get notifications for their task or for the whole card?

Hi Lisa,

You can add a person to a task/checklist item without adding them to the card. When they are just part of the task they do not receive any notification on comments or changes done on the card.

If they are specifically called on the card, they will be notified.
