The automation button doesn’t appear on my boards and in my workspace settings, I don’t see anything about enabling the automation function or Butler. I’ve checked this in my apps (iPad and iPhone) and the desktop/web version. I just returned to Trello. My account is several years old and this probably wasn’t a feature back then, but the apps on my iPhone and iPad are new - you’d think I’d be using the current version of everything. I’ve looked through other people’s questions on this and nothing has worked. I have the free version for now, so can’t get one-on-one support with this. TIA!

I'm sorry to hear that accessing automation buttons on the new Trello editor is confusing. We recently launched the new Trello, which brings a range of new personal productivity features to help you be your most productive self!
As part of this, some of the navigation to access existing features has changed a little. The good news is that automation buttons still exist (for both boards and cards). There's just a slightly different way to access the card automation buttons, and I am here to help you with that.
It's a part of the new update on Trello's card back visual!
Hope this helps!

Ah, OK! I hadn’t seen anyone mention that these functions are accessible on the website version only. I see them there now but not in my phone or iPad apps. Is that indeed the case? The automations work in the app, now that I have a couple set up, but I can’t view or edit them there.

Unfortunately, the mobile app doesn't support Workspace Views at this time. However, you're not the only one interested in this functionality, as we've heard from other users who are also interested.
For this reason, we have a feature suggestion, where you can keep an eye on that: TRELLO-559–As a Trello user, I'd like to have all Views available on mobile.
I also recommend visiting it since the more votes it receives, the more likely it is to be considered for future improvements. So, I definitely suggest adding your feedback and opinion there if it's something that could make Trello better for you and your colleagues.
Hope this helps!
