Can you add automation to templates?

I'd like to add automation for checklist application to a template board for my team.  Is this possible?

Hi Heather, you can add the automation first to the board before converting the board to a template( or in this case, create a board from the template, add the automation and then make it a template again)
When your teammates reconvert the template to a board it will still have the saved automation.
