Clarification on Billing for Multiple Premium Workspaces

Hi Trello Support,

I currently have a Trello account with two workspaces:

  • Workspace 1 (Premium): includes me and Person A
  • Workspace 2 (planning to upgrade to Premium): includes me and Person B

Since Trello charges per user, I’d like to clarify how the billing works in this case. Will I be charged for:

  • Three users (me counted once, plus Person A and Person B),
    or
  • Four users (me counted separately in each workspace, plus Person A and Person B)?

I want to ensure I understand the cost structure before upgrading the second workspace. Appreciate your help!

You will be billed for four users in this scenario. Trello Premium billing is handled separately for each Workspace. If the same person (in this case, you) is a member of multiple upgraded Workspaces, you will be counted as a billable user in each Workspace.

This means you are counted twice—once for each Premium Workspace.

There is an ongoing feature request to allow per-account billing instead of per-workspace billing, but currently, this is not available.

Add the possibility to have per account billing instead of per workspace billing
