We currently rely on the card numbers as reference for tasks.
I copied a Board from one Workspace to another when I noticed that the 'card numbers on my copy were different' than the original board.
How can I ensure that a board I have copied from one workspace to another has or retains the same 'card number'?
Card numbers are just a sequence number of when a card is added to a board. If you don't mind the number being alpha-numeric, you can use {cardid} instead. It is truly unique and stays with the card.
A workaround for cardnumber is to use an automation to populate the card number to a custom field and reference that when it moves boards, the drawback is you could end up with duplicate numbers when moving cards between boards...
when a card is created on the board, set the custom field "Card Number" to {cardnumber}
Thank you for that workaround Mike

Hi @naveen madhavan
Welcome to the community!
Unfortunately, Trello does not provide a way to ensure that the copied board will retain the same card numbers in a different workspace. Card numbers are unique to each board and cannot be transferred or maintained when copying boards between workspaces.
