Customer Details from one card to another?

Hi,

 

I've recently inherited a Trello workflow in a business I've just started helping with.

I've not used Trello before and it seems that it was not set up correctly originally. 

There are many boards in use (approx 8) with a stand alone client board.

Is there a way for the name, address, email fields to prepop a new card on a different board by use of the customer number? 

I know you can add automation between cards but it would make everyones life easier if they could just input the customer number on the new card and the details come across.

Hey, Sarah! Welcome to Trello. I know it can be daunting to suddenly inherit a new tool, but we're here to help!

Well, if Trello doesn't do something, then automations are how you make it happen. What's the alternative?

 

If you're asking if there's some sort of setting to just "turn on" to make Trello do this, unfortunately, I'm not aware of anything like it.

 

The only alternative I can think of is a Power-Up. Unfortunately, I don't know of one off of the top of my head, and I wouldn't want to recommend something to you that I haven't used myself. You're free to look for one, though.

 

To be honest, though, I am a bit unsure of exactly what you're trying to accomplish. Can you clarify these points for me?

I'm not sure what you mean by this. What's a "stand alone client board"? What are the other boards for?

What do you mean by "prepop"? Are you wanting the address, email etc. to appear on the new card, or are you wanting to attach the old card to the new card?
