Formatting Removal Doesn't Work

I don't like the changed default formatting in Trello, with the double-spacing of text.  The commands shown to clear default formatting (ctrl + \) doesn't work.  Can I get rid of this and set my default spacing back to single spaced lines of text?  If so, how?  Thanks.

One way to solve this is to disable auto-formatting in the editor: Login to Trello, visit http://trello.com/labs and turn off "WYSIWYG Editing."

@JM you cannot change the paragraph spacing in Trello. The CTRL+\ command is to clear any formatting you applied to the text such as bolding, italicizing, etc.
