Guest access on Trello, displays "restricted content" for dropbox link, link won't work

I have guest access to an account on Trello. I have been (in the past) able to follow the teams links to Dropbox files no problems. After a hiatus of several weeks, I am back, but the Dropbox links no longer work for me. I can see the link. The flag "Restricted Content' appears at the end of the link. If I click the link, it invites me to log in to Dropbox. The correct path flashes up for a half a second, then I get the message "This folder does not exist." I am able to see all my other Dropbox folders just fine. I have tried resetting, restarting, relinking the accounts, but the same thing is happening. Ideas?

Hi @Solveig Singleton

Welcome to the Atlassian Community.

You can try the following:

  1. Since you're a guest, can you ask the owner of the Trello board to share the Dropbox files with you directly?
  2. The owner might also be able to download the Dropbox files and then add them directly to Trello as an attachment.  (More work, I know, but it can save you the trouble of clicking links that don't work)
  3. Alternatively, you can try Trello's Google Drive "power-up"- that still seems to be working fine.

You also mentioned seeing "the correct path flash for a half-second then the message the folder does not exist" appears. You might be seeing this because Dropbox used to have a power-up for Trello, but they discontinued it last year. (You could be seeing remnants of that -this is only my theory, though)

Let me know if any of these options help.

Thanks. We have been transferring the files by other methods, and I guess we'll have to stick with that. The only article I had found on the Dropbox power-up said that issues with it were resolved last year, but not that it was discontinued. I'm puzzled as to why it is working for other team members, but sounds like it is not a problem for me to solve, either way.
