How do I become a team member? I'm always listed as non team.

It's listing you as a non-team member because the board is part of a team that you're not in yet. Ask an administrator for the team to add you as a member. There are instructions on how to do so here: http://help.trello.com/article/715-inviting-people-to-an-organization
