I'm trying out Trello and specifically the premium features to see if it's worth it and the main things I'm interested in are table views (not winning me over) and custom fields. I want to add specific status text boxes (not comments) but formatted text for statuses, summaries etc. that can be separate from the description (right now it seems I'd have to just add all those as sections in the description, maybe separated by bold headings or something, but it's not great and not what I want. What I want are individual multi-line rich text boxes. Side note: I also want to add hyperlink fields (not a fan of the link attachments, they take up too much screen real estate.
I'm guessing this just isn't functionality that's part of the product, but I figured it's worth asking the community before abandoning Trello.
You might want to take a look at Amazing Fields. I designed the powerup to do a lot of the things you are describing here and I think it could help you out. If you give it a try, feel free to drop me any questions through the embedded help chat window within the powerup.
++ To trying out the amazing fields - it does exactly what you're looking for with styling the fields to be the size you want. I recommend it over Custom fields if you want some custom custom fields :)

Amazing Fields works perfectly for what I was trying to do and then some. This is cool, thanks for pointing me at it... I'm pretty sure this is going to work.
