Hi all,
We are a training delivery company trialling Trello and many things have to be done prior to actual day or training.
We have project steps that need to be based around # days out from when the training occurs. eg 'Workbooks edited and sent to printers' = 14 days before training day
I've put in the basic steps of what has to occur but how do set "days out"?
In the first instance, we’d like to set up a basic template (along the lines of the simple project steps above) where we can enter the start date and it automatically assigns dates/notifications etc – and if we have to amend the date on a particular project step, it automatically re-schedules the dates that follows.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much!
Steve
If you don't mind using a (paid) 3rd-party tool for this, you can use Butler to manage task dependencies. The article in the link describes a basic system to update due dates, but using custom fields you can make it even more flexible.
Hi Stephen,
There is not currently a way to do as you describe natively within Trello. I'll let the team know thats something that you'd be interested in!
For now, I suspect that the best way to accomplish that will be a custom tool using our API. You can read much more about our API at https://developers.trello.com/.
