How to become a Beta user

Izabela Wiethaus July 22, 2025

I had some great features in my Trello til last week - now there're gone . I was not on a trial version. I know that I tried some Beta functionalities- How to get them back? How can I become a Beta user?

Welcome @Izabela Wiethaus

Atlassian usually has closed beta programs where they choose significant number of users and grant them the Beta access. You can read more about it here: https://community.atlassian.com/forums/Trello-questions/How-do-I-join-the-Beta-program/qaq-p/2958281

Thanks you @Nikola Perisic for linking to the post. Although the post is just mentioning, who is becoming a beta user, it does not mention, that they are also taking  the status away. But that's what they do - as it looks  in my case.

In case somebody from Atlassian or Trello is reading this:

PLEASE inform the Users that their status changed back to the "normal"user status. Otherwise they get really frustrated if they want to follow their work routine and it does not work.
In my case, it costs me more then half a day to do research and figure out what is wrong with my computer (e.g.rebooting), my SW (reinstalling the newest SW update on my PC), and the App (checking my calendar link and even reinstalling Trello), and to search in the community page.
...and probably for the next half day I will check for alternatives with a better customer centricity...

Nevertheless, Nikola, Thanks for directing me to this page, otherwise I would have gone more frustrated ;-)

@Izabela Wiethaus can you please clarify: which features you are asking specifically? This will help me to assist you.

In the meantime, I can guess that you may be referring to conclusion of our Beta program, and new features becoming our default experience. But no features are expected to be "gone" so I'd love to hear you out.

Hi Victor,
of course, I can.
Last Thursday I was still able to drag&drop task from my board to the planner, which is connected to google mail. I was able to do this since 4-5 weeks and this is a real great feature to plan my day quickly.

Yesterday I wanted to plan my day again and it just did not work. I could see my google calender, but I could not drag and drop any task, nor could I manually block slots for certain task or focus time.

Currently I see that this is now a “paid feature”,  which I could understand. But I do not understand, that you remove a free-of-charge feature and change it to a pro feature with no notice time or information. And you removed my Beta-Status without informing me…
That’s just not customer friendly - sorry…

@Izabela Wiethaus I have responded to you in another thread, and will briefly mention here that now that Beta is concluded, Planner is a feature that is partially available (drag-and-drop to schedule) only in our paid plans.

We've been showing in-product notifications about the upcoming Beta conclusion, and what that means for some of the new features. I understand that in our busy days this information sometimes may be missed.

That said, we've made 14-day trial available for all of our users, even if you used this trial in the past, so that you can transition from Beta to the new experience more gradually.
