How to search a Trello Workspace by using a custom field such as Priority: High

As the question states I have a Custom Field, called Priority (it seem to be a feature available so I just used it) but now I have a little challenge in using it further.

The Custom Field appears on cards like this:

Now when I go to my Workspace and want to search multiple boards and filter by this 'Custom Field, Priority: High it does not work, why?

The annoying thing is that I did a search on one board and it works, I really don't understand this.

I am hoping and sure that there are a lot more knowledgable folk in our community than I that could resolve this so I'm really hoping to hear back from someone asap.

Thanks for the reply and you are welcome.

It is all in a good cause and rewarding to find solutions and if not then at least to have the courtesy of a reply so that I do not continue in vain, so thanks for that.

You are also right in what you say it is logical to think that you can use these custom fields more extensively but sadly not.

The solution I adopted in the end was the simplest.

I deleted all the custom fields and just use a plain but simple label as you can do more with this being a standard card feature.

But if one day that gets fixed properly it would be good to know.

There's quite an investigation you've conducted here! Bravo!

I'm sorry to say that your findings are correct. Although filtering cards by custom field is possible, searching is currently not. 

We actually have it as an open feature request for the product team to consider! I'll add you as an official "+1" in support of this.

Hi, Atlassian Team!

How do I include custom fields in my "global" board searches?

My question is similar. I have a lot of cards with different phone numbers added as Custom Fields. So when I search for a number across cards, titles, in the description, and in two different custom fields, I'm not getting a thorough search. 

I've tested by searching for numbers I *know* to be listed in a custom fields and I get a "Nothing matching found" response. 

How do I adjust my search parameters?

The feature request linked above is still not resolved, so the global search for custom fields is still in the works, unfortunately. 

We have a separate feature request to introduce a board-specific filtering for custom fields: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/TRELLO-163

I've added another +1 in favor of this suggestion, but you can vote for it, too, to increase its priority for our development team. 

In the meantime, I've tried creating custom fields with phone numbers of my board, and I noticed that when a custom field is set to the "Number" type, cards aren't searchable by phone numbers, but when the type is set to "Text", cards are being filtered by phone numbers as keywords. 

I'll report this discrepancy to our development team, but maybe this could be a temporary workaround in your case. Have you possibly tried it already?
