Is there a way to automate a board's background color?

I want to be able to have a filter that changes the background of a board depending on the name that is given to the board. My boards all start with a job number and my job numbers indicate what type of job the board refers to ( i.e. interior, exterior, wood refinishing). 

Is there a way to "look" at the first character in the board name and change the background color based on that character?

Right now, that feature isn’t available within Trello. I’ll pass your interest in this on to our team for consideration—let me know if there's any additional info you'd like for me to send their way.

As a workaround, you could create template boards with the background you want, and copy them when you create a new board.
