Keep closed boards in the main dashboard as view-only

Deleted user April 23, 2019

Hello,

i wanted to ask if there is any way to keep closed boards as view-only in the open boards list (or at least in the main dashboard). We are using boards to split work in tasks and distribute it among different people. Sometimes decisions will be made along the way, and they will be commented on the specific cards (used as kind of documentation). Users sometimes need to see the previous task spliting and made decisions (comments, etc).  Keeping the board open will allow people to make changes, closing the board will prevent people from viewing them (or make it hard to find). Is there any workaround for this?

Thanks.

Hi Redian,

Currently, there's not a way to display closed boards in the main section of your open boards and teams, or elsewhere in Trello, other than the Closed Boards section.

There's probably a few ways you could organize your Trello teams and boards to fit this workflow -- there's no right or wrong way. How would you feel about keeping those boards open, but perhaps changing them to "no team" boards aka personal boards? You can create and hold an unlimited number of those! Or what about creating another free team to house those open boards?

Alternatively, Trello Business Class offers unlimited open boards, and Collections -- which could work well with your use case!

Let me know what you think, or if you have any other requirements for your workflow, and I'll see what we can come up with!
