Hi Trello Community!
I'm looking to create an automation rule that automatically helps me remember when advanced checklist items are due. This could be accomplished a couple of ways:
Has anyone successfully accomplished this or done something similar that would be helpful? Right now I'm manually updating card to do lists based on the due date of the next advanced checklist item, and I feel like there has to be a better way!
Thanks in advance for any help.
The current automation triggers does not extend to the advanced checklist item due dates. It does not have the capability to determine the next item on a checklist that is incomplete and suppose use the next item as the due date to notify or alert anyone.
Having said that there is the http request action which you can employ your own services aka code using api to handle this type of use cases.
For example, determine the next incomplete item and set card due date when an item is completed or create a proxy when due date is set…etc
Thanks for your answer, @milynnus! Bummer...I wish it were easier to do this. I would call myself a code novice, so I'm not sure using api is a good solution for me, unfortunately.

Quite understandable. Trello has most of the use cases covered but unique use case like yours, you will need to extend Trello with code either with a custom/COTS power up, a endpoint called from http request with Trello automation, a webhook...etc these are the options available.
This is one that uses http request that is somewhat related to your requirements

@milynnus Hello, are there people I can pay to create an automation similar to what Janet is looking for? I really need to be able to sort my lists via their advanced checklist item dues dates on each card. Also, I want each day for those overdue checklist items to be pushed to either 'today' or maybe a new list of unfinished tasks. Surely this can be done?!!

Perhaps we can arrange for a call via Zoom. My contact details are on profile page.
