Can I create a private board where invited people can view my board, but not have editing rights?

I want to create a private board for my "members".   I want them to be able to 'watch' the board or individual lists.  I will post content and updates - I want them to be able to add their own comments - but not be able to edit the content.

Right now if I create a private board and invite people - they can move cards around, delete cards, change my content, etc.  In other words - I want to have Administrative rights on my private board, but not give everyone else admin rights - just view and comment.

Hi @Alan Gordon

Through Trello Business Class you can add a member to your board as an observer.

I have Trello Gold right now.  I see that business class allows me to create observers, whereas my Gold account does not.   https://trello.com/en-US/pricing

I'm a one person company, so the last time I upgraded to business class - all of a sudden every time I invited someone to a board I was getting charged.  It was very confusing as to why people were being put on my team, when I was actually only trying to collaborate with them - not pay for them.  I felt like I had a virus that every time I would talk to someone on Trello I was upgrading them to business class - so I quickly dropped that and went back to Gold.

There should be a happy medium for very small businesses and one person operations like me.

@Lenny Dennis you only get charged for team members or multi-board guests in Business Class. So as long as you ensure you only invite each external member to one board, you won't need to pay for them.

If you need to collaborate externally from lots of different boards through a single email, you could look at my product BenkoDesk which allows you to email from unlimited boards with unlimited members:

SendBoard does something similar but they have a per user/per board cost:

Hello @Alan Gordon ,

following your challenge i would like to give my suggestion!

Private boards are only visible to any user added as members, and they can view and edit it as well. This works on a free plan Trello, mybe you could try premium. Otherwise you can add user as an observer.23.png

@Lenny Dennis you can do this with a free team so long as you don't have more than 10 boards per team. You can make a board team viewable but so that members cannot self join, but can vote and comment.
