I've had the same issue. It happens to me with any PDF and I've tried everything in the suggestion above to remedy it.
What's the next best course of action?
Hello, wondering if anyone had a solution? Tried all of the above including reinstalling app + updating phone.
Here's a cumbersome workaround:
If I save the pdf link from trello, and paste it say in a text editor, there I can click on it to access the PDF.
Other option is to use from the phone web browser. That seems to work.
Would be nice to be able to view the PDFs directly from Trello's app again.
Thanks

Hi Lee. Thanks for the suggestion, though unfortunately it wasn't the issue for me. Tried updating / reinstalling stuff, etc. No luck.
Happy to report that a few weeks later though it mysteriously started working again! I guess something must have updated itself in the background.

Hi @Florian
Does this happen for all PDF's, or just a specific one?
Do you still see that after closing the app completely and then re-opening it? To close the app, tap on your device's app manager, and swipe to close the Trello app.
If you're still running into the same trouble, would you mind clearing the Trello app cache to see if that fixes the issue? Before you do so, please take a look at this help doc that explains how to check for unsent changes first and it explains how to clear the app cache after that: Troubleshooting for the Android app
In a situation where the issue persists after clearing the app cache, I'd suggest reinstalling the Trello app using the following steps:
If reinstalling doesn't help either, please reach out to us at https://trello.com/contact with you OS and Trello version and we can take a deeper dive into this.
Thanks!

I've tried all of the suggestions, and nothing corrects the issue. I've noticed that the only file that will open, the attachment is uploaded to Amazon AWS (https://trello-attachments.s3.amazonaws.com/...). The other's that can't open are housed on trello.com (https://trello.com/1/cards/60d64228ebcfc4484e6b6801/attachments....). It works fine using Chrome on a desktop; however the attachment won't open when using the android app.

It seems that all files are now uploaded in https://trello.com/1/cards/6167adffc039......

This never used to be a problem for me in the past, but after the latest update I can only preview images, but PDF's now require a download, which is ridiculous. I checked and my chrome settings work and other apps allow me to preview the PDF without downloading it. I also used to be able to preview word docs and excel too, but that has been stopped for a while. If I have to constantly download to see items what is the point of having in Trello, defeats the whole purpose of having it all in one place so I don't have to download to preview.

I have the same issue today when trying to preview a PDF in my Chrome browser. Not using an app on my laptop. Other users of our Boards will not be happy either. Please fix asap. Thanks.

Our office is experiencing the same issue. You now must download the PDF onto the device in order to view vs. how it use to automatically open in a separate window. It is on all or our devises, including several laptops. It has to be from an update that happened. It is not appreciated for sure.
